About the role#
The Controls Engineering Co-op joins a cross-discipline team to support conveyor system integration projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience in industrial automation and material handling. This role involves electrical controls engineering, PLC programming, and field commissioning activities. You will help ensure systems meet customer specifications and project requirements.
What you'll do#
- Review electrical drawings, I/O lists, control narratives, and system documentation.
- Participate in system testing and validation to ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Assist with the completion of testing and commissioning documentation.
- Support field commissioning and startup activities for assigned projects.
- Aid in troubleshooting PLC programs, HMIs, industrial communication networks, and field devices.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel up to 80-90% during the co-op assignment.
- Basic understanding of industrial automation, electrical controls, or PLC programming is preferred.
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation platforms, HMIs, or industrial communication networks is a plus.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, climb ladders, and navigate around warehouse equipment.
