About the role#
Diamondback Energy is hiring an Accounting Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based in Oklahoma City. You will work on an individual project throughout the 12-week program and present your findings to the executive team at the end of the summer. You will work alongside experienced mentors to gain exposure to business functions like financial analysis, operational accounting, and reporting.
What you'll do#
- Complete an individual accounting project.
- Work with teams across finance and other disciplines to learn about oil and gas exploration and production.
- Assist with month-end financial reports and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support budget cycles, regulatory filings, and auditor requests.
- Interface with various departments to understand core accounting processes.
- Provide compliance and administrative support to the department.
- Participate in company intern events and community service activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field.
- A GPA of 3.20 or higher.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- You must be returning to school for the Fall 2027 semester.
- Prior work experience or extracurricular achievements are a plus.

- This role is located on-site in Oklahoma City, OK.
- The internship lasts approximately 12 weeks from May to August 2027.
