About the role#
WhiteWater is hiring an Accounting Intern for Summer 2027. This role is based in our downtown Austin office. You will support our accounting department with daily tasks, month end close processes, and various team projects. At the end of the internship, you will present your findings and skills gained to management.
What you'll do#
- Enter accounting data into the ERP system.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and handle account reconciliations.
- Maintain accounting files.
- Help the accounting team build procedures to improve workflow efficiency and maintain internal controls.
- Work with the operations department to interpret new revenue contracts and determine proper revenue recognition under ASC 606.
- Assist in evaluating accounting for term easements for leases under ASC 842.
- Complete ad hoc projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least four semesters of college or university coursework.
- Current enrollment in a Finance or Accounting degree program.
- At least 9 hours of accounting coursework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven success working on team projects and in team environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.

- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week or more.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
