About the role#
As a Construction Manager Intern, you will perform the duties of a project site supervisor for food and beverage facility projects. This role involves balancing field and office tasks to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget. You will work directly with project management, sub-contractors, and clients to coordinate site activities and ensure the project progresses as planned.
What you'll do#
- Oversee daily construction operations, including sub-contractor coordination and site safety compliance.
- Assist project management with developing and updating project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Handle project accounting, cost management, and client billing tasks.
- Coordinate field engineering, inspections, and facility start-up activities.
- Prepare and maintain project logs and reports.
- Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Conduct site walks to audit progress against the project schedule.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Fundamental understanding of all construction phases and the ability to interpret construction documents.
- Previous job site experience on industrial building projects.
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Project is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work a 10 days on, 4 days off schedule, including long hours during summer months.
- Willingness to travel up to 100% to project sites across the USA and Canada.
- Physical ability to traverse job sites, work in various weather conditions, and lift up to 50 pounds.
