About the role#
Join the Methods Engineering team at De Havilland Field to support the production of DHC aircraft. This co-op position provides hands-on experience in manufacturing support, technical documentation, and digital data preparation. It is an opportunity for students to gain exposure to aerospace manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings to support manufacturing operations.
- Create work instructions and annotated workbooks using CAD tools.
- Use 2D and 3D CAD software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA, for data preparation.
- Digitize legacy hand-drawn drawings using scanning equipment and verify them against existing tools and parts.
- Communicate with other departments to clarify technical details and resolve production issues.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities within a production environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering program.
- Understanding of engineering drawings.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Ability to stay organized, detail-oriented, and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Location & details#
- Location: British Columbia, Canada.
- Work modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
- Candidates must be able to adhere to strict health and safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment and the ability to work in various environmental conditions such as confined spaces or heights. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, kneel, bend, and work in shift rotations.
