About the role#
DuBois Chemicals, Inc. is hiring an Assistant Engineer for an 8 to 12 month co-op position in Vancouver. You will join the technical Project Management team and work directly with Project Managers and coordinators. This role involves both office tasks and hands on work, with occasional local travel.
What you'll do#
- Select and source components for projects.
- Prepare quotations and bills of materials for piping assemblies.
- Create 3D models of piping assemblies using AutoCAD.
- Assist with project coordination, including tracking tasks and updating schedules.
- Assemble and test piping and instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot equipment and help resolve technical issues.
- Provide backup support for shipping and receiving operations.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years in a Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering program.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Laboratory experience is a plus.
- AutoCAD experience is an asset.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
- Work is on-site, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
