ENG_Co-Op/Intern/Trainee

About the role#

As a production test and prototyping intern, you will join the production operations team to support testing for the company’s electric propulsion systems, including traction motors, inverters, chargers, and electronic control boards. This role involves managing prototype projects, improving internal processes, and developing project management tools to track performance.

What you'll do#

• Develop production test strategies and methods for manufactured products.
• Write specifications, analyze equipment submissions, and qualify new equipment upon receipt.
• Commission test stations on-site as well as at joint ventures, suppliers, and international production sites.
• Support production and maintain production documentation and control plans.
• Manage non-conformities in production and inspection and assist with customer returns.
• Contribute to new product engineering and prototype testing.
• Develop and optimize project management tools and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Coordinate prototype and industrialization technician teams and assist in the design of new test equipment and tooling.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, component drawings, assembly plans, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written).
• Familiarity with laboratory instruments and computer systems, including the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with National Instruments tools (TestStand, LabVIEW, XCP) is an asset.
• Programming experience in VBA, Java, JavaScript, or C# is an asset.
• Knowledge of Altium Designer, SharePoint, or client/server interaction is considered an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
