About the role#
D1 Training in Altoona offers a hands-on internship for college students looking to build a foundation in athletic development. You will work alongside experienced coaches to gain real-world experience in a professional training facility. This role is designed to help you complete your required internship hours while learning the day-to-day operations of the industry.
What you'll do#
- Complete your required college internship hours.
- Coach youth, high school, and adult athletes, as well as teams.
- Learn the fundamentals of strength and conditioning, including speed, agility, power, strength, mobility, and conditioning.
- Master the proper coaching of exercises and movement patterns.
- Learn to modify training sessions for different athletes and ability levels.
- Develop your communication and coaching skills.
- Create a positive and motivating training environment.
- Observe and assist with the daily operations of a professional training facility.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student.
- A focus in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Strength and Conditioning, Physical Education, Sport and Recreation Management, Athletic Training, Sports Performance, or related fields.
- A genuine interest in sports, fitness, and athletic performance.
- A willingness to work hard, ask questions, and learn from experienced staff.
- The ability to bring energy to the training floor every day.
