About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by providing hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow company SOPs at each workstation.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately and safely.
- Provide caring service to patients, including offering immunizations and other health services.
- Field medical questions and offer to counsel patients under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Handle telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory tasks such as processing medication deliveries and cycle counts.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status to educate patients on vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Contribute to a high-performing team by embracing feedback and maintaining a growth mindset.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Strong focus and the ability to pivot between tasks to meet patient needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to use math to solve problems, such as calculating dosages or days' supply.
- 1+ years of experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting is preferred.
- Ability to travel to other locations within the market as needed.
- Ability to become immunization certified.

- Compensation: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
