About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you gain hands-on experience under the direction of a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow procedures at every workstation.
- Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and putting away medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market.
