About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining an overview of pharmacy operations while preparing for a future Pharmacist role. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Homewood, Illinois.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across workstations like production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations and show empathy during interactions.
- Support immunizations by educating patients, administering vaccines where permitted, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, federal, state, and local laws regarding patient safety and privacy.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus to perform tasks accurately over time.
- A team-oriented mindset with a focus on helping others.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
