About the role#
This internship provides international pharmacy graduates the opportunity to complete required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to build your knowledge, skills, and professional experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This is a full-time, on-site role designed to prepare you for pharmacist licensure exams.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment by focusing on patient safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, counting and measuring drugs, and labeling.
- Manage inventory levels and resolve third-party insurance rejections.
- Greet customers in a professional manner and assist with prescription pick-up procedures.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing staff and identifying business opportunities.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs and assist with immunization preparation or delivery.
- Provide counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Indiana.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Eligibility to immunize is preferred.
