About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours while applying your pharmacy education to real-world practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a pharmacist position through a structured learning plan. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop your clinical knowledge, business acumen, and leadership skills. You are required to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Support patient health by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and fielding medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns, and processing medication deliveries.
- Demonstrate empathy and care during all patient interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Travel to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
What you'll need#
- Foreign graduate degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all training and licensure requirements within the designated timeframes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
