About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours while applying your pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge and skills needed to transition into a pharmacist role. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in North Carolina within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Support patient health by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and fielding medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members to support a high-performing team.
- Complete inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns, and processing medication deliveries.
- Maintain flexibility to travel to other market stores as needed to support business operations.
- Complete Technician Immunizer status training, educate patients on vaccines, and monitor for adverse reactions where allowable by law.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations, and the ability to resolve patient issues.
