About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete the required US internship hours to build upon your existing pharmacy education. This role is designed for foreign graduates from non-US accredited schools to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for pharmacist licensure. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of Ohio within 120 days of completing your intern hours.
What you'll do#
- Deliver patient care and provide counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and labeling vials.
- Manage pharmacy workflow and resolve third-party rejections.
- Maintain in-stock inventory and assist with drug orders.
- Support your pharmacy manager in developing pharmacy support staff and identifying business opportunities.
- Facilitate a team culture that promotes energy and professional pride.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, quality assurance standards, and patient safety protocols.
- Perform register transactions and assist customers with questions or concerns.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL examinations.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in Ohio.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Eligibility to immunize.
- Skills in emotional intelligence, time management, and conflict resolution.
