About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US Internship hours while working under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. This program is designed to develop your clinical knowledge, practice management, and leadership skills. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days of completing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA.
- Process prescriptions, including the translation of SIG codes, and resolve third-party rejections.
- Greet customers in a professional manner, assist with questions, and perform register transactions.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating staff and coordinating training and development.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Manage in-stock inventory and deliver health care services, such as immunizations, as allowed by state regulation.
- Offer to counsel patients and direct them to the pharmacist for medical questions.
- Participate in store operational meetings and lead with empathy and compassion.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eligibility to immunize.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
