About the role#
This position is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your clinical knowledge to real-world practice. The goal is to prepare you for a full Pharmacist role while you gain experience in pharmacy operations and patient care. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and secure state pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide patient care by fielding medical questions, counseling patients under pharmacist supervision, and taking telephonic prescriptions.
- Deliver health services including immunizations and point-of-care testing, while educating patients on the importance of vaccines.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
- Mentor and coach pharmacy team members to share best practices.
- Manage basic inventory activities like cycle counts and returns.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience through empathy and professional care.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited pharmacy school and FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain immunization certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to travel to other stores in the market as needed.
