About the role#
This internship provides a pathway for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete required US internship hours and apply their education in a real-world setting. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become a licensed pharmacist. This program requires the completion of internship hours within 18 months and obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow at all workstations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide empathetic care to patients, including fielding medical questions and counseling under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Coach, train, and mentor pharmacy team members.
- Perform inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns, and processing medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health services, including immunizations and patient education, where permitted by law.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
- Remain flexible to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
