About the role#
Inova Loudoun Hospital is hiring a Radiology Extern 2 to join our team. This is a part-time, PRN role that operates on a varied schedule. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered Imaging Technologist to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform tasks and procedures based on your completed competencies and specific unit needs.
- Assist the healthcare team with implementing patient care plans.
- Help radiologic technologists perform examinations using standard department protocols, sterile technique, and isolation precautions.
- Apply radiography principles and radiation protection procedures, including the use of collimation devices and protective shielding.
- Identify your own learning needs and seek opportunities to improve your practice knowledge.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Must be in your second year of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and in good standing.
- Successful completion of Extern 1 competencies.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association, required by your start date.
