About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Hiawatha and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will work with the operations team to optimize manufacturing processes and support engineering projects. The role requires a consistent schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
What you'll do#
- Analyze production equipment and manufacturing methods to support continuous improvement projects.
- Design and evaluate processes for new and existing products, focusing on ergonomics, productivity, and cost.
- Develop capital expenditure proposals and justify costs for new equipment.
- Study operations to improve workflow, material routing, and spatial utilization.
- Provide technical assistance, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct safety audits and resolve safety issues.
- Determine the allocation of equipment and labor within existing constraints.
- Represent the company to current and prospective suppliers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for industrial engineering or a related field.
- Status as a US Person, which includes US citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons.

- The internship is paid and operates on a rolling term basis.
