About the role#
The Operations Intern role within our Home Solutions division offers a chance to gain practical experience in the transportation industry. You will join our Early Talent Program for the summer of 2027. This role is based in Amherst, New York, and requires on-site attendance. You will work alongside senior leaders and different departments to support business objectives. Successful completion of the program may lead to consideration for full-time positions after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply transportation management practices to support daily business operations.
- Assist in improving the efficiency of company assets and equipment.
- Collaborate across various departments to build communication and relationship-building skills.
- Handle multiple tasks and solve problems in your daily work.
- Complete a project and present your experience to senior leaders at the end of the summer.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance while supporting team needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore or junior in a 4-year bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university.
- Pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Finance, or a similar field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong motivation, a desire to take initiative, and the ability to work independently.
- Previous coursework, internships, or work experience are preferred but not required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Note: Onboarding and orientation will take place at our headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, during the first few weeks of the program.
