About the role#
The Engineering Co-Op provides general support for product design, CAD documentation, and lab testing. You will work on projects serving industrial, commercial, residential, municipal, and military markets. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Piqua, Ohio, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare layout drawings, assemblies, and dimensional analysis.
- Review mechanical components for compatibility and perform performance calculations.
- Create and maintain Bills of Material structures.
- Design new or modified products using CAD software.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to solve assembly, inspection, and testing problems.
- Provide technical assistance to engineering and other departments.
- Investigate product improvement opportunities and develop solutions.
- Build test apparatus in the lab and run product verification tests.
- Communicate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers, including occasional travel.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Access.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to write reports and interpret technical procedures or regulations.
- Ability to safely operate in factory settings and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
