About the role#
The Engineering Co-Op provides general support for product design, CAD documentation, and lab testing. You will work on projects serving industrial, commercial, residential, municipal, and military markets. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027 based on-site in Piqua, Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Prepare layout drawings, assemblies, and dimensional analysis while reviewing mechanical components for functional compatibility.
- Perform product performance calculations and manage Bills of Material structures.
- Design new or modified products using CAD software.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Purchasing teams to solve inspection, assembly, and testing problems.
- Investigate product improvement opportunities and develop technical solutions.
- Build test apparatus and run product verification tests in the lab.
- Communicate with suppliers and customers, which includes occasional travel.
- Provide technical assistance across departments and handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. program for Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with modeling software, specifically SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Access.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to write reports and interpret technical procedures or journals.
- Capability to work safely in various factory settings and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
