    About the role#

    The Inside Sales Engineer Intern serves as a technical resource for quotation opportunities, application review, and customer solution development. You will work with the Inside Sales Manager, Outside Sales, Engineering, and Product Management teams to provide technical and commercial support for valve automation and process control applications. This position is for individuals seeking to build a long-term career within Westlock Controls and Crane Company.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide technical and commercial support for valve automation and process control applications.
    • Respond to quotation questions and proactively follow-up on opportunities.
    • Work with Outside Sales to secure business and enter sales orders.
    • Review customer specifications, datasheets, and technical requirements.
    • Provide product selection guidance to customers, distributors, and OEMs.
    • Partner with Engineering and Product Management to evaluate non-standard applications.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline quotation, order entry, and customer support processes.
    • Assist in the creation and maintenance of application guides, sizing tools, and technical resources.
    • Support the implementation and optimization of commercial systems like CRM and quote tools.
    • Process and investigate Return Goods Authorizations (RGA) and set up new customer accounts.
    • Assist with reporting duties in the absence of the Inside Sales Manager.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
    • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
    • A self-motivated, competitive, and collaborative mindset.
    • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in industrial automation, valves, actuators, instrumentation, or process control.
    • Preferred: Experience supporting technical quotations, project sales, or application engineering.
    • Preferred: Knowledge of hazardous area certifications, positioners, limit switches, or pneumatic actuators.
    • Preferred: Experience working with ERP, CRM, or CPQ systems.

    • Employment: Full-time.
    • Compensation: $25.00 hourly.
