About the role#
Covestro is hiring an HES Intern for our North American headquarters in Pittsburgh. This is a full-time, paid internship for the summer of 2027. You will work with the Health and Environmental Safety team for approximately 12 weeks to support our site management systems and safety programs.
What you'll do#
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and field observations in labs, production areas, and construction sites.
- Assist with safety programs including fall protection, work permits, confined spaces, machine safety, and contractor safety.
- Participate in emergency response training, safety audits, and incident investigations to identify contributing factors.
- Support the development and review of HSE procedures, training materials, and inspection forms.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in safety management, industrial hygiene, or environmental science/engineering.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of college.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A basic understanding of OSHA General Industry standards.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
