About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Civil Engineering internship based in Tomah, Wisconsin, for the Summer 2027 term. The position is on-site and involves working across construction sites, field offices, and the corporate office. You may be required to work overtime hours, and some travel is necessary for meetings and training.
What you'll do#
- Perform on-site inspections for various construction projects.
- Complete engineering calculations and help with project documentation.
- Create designs and plan sheets using computer-aided drafting software.
- Assist engineers with daily tasks across multiple disciplines.
- Help with survey duties on construction sites.
- Lift and carry at least 40 lbs, and spend long periods standing, walking, or climbing on uneven terrain in all-season weather conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering program.
- Familiarity with State Department of Transportation and local agency procedures for design and construction.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Microstation, or similar software.
- A solid understanding of general survey practices and equipment.
- Strong communication skills.
- A valid driver's license and your own reliable transportation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
