About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship supporting the advocacy efforts of the Consumer Technology Association regarding environmental policy. You will focus on issues such as electronics recycling, battery regulations, product energy efficiency, and chemical restrictions. This role requires a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days working remotely. The internship spans from September 2026 through early 2027.
What you'll do#
- Track federal and state environmental legislation and regulations that affect the consumer technology industry.
- Prepare update memos and comments on legislative and regulatory developments.
- Maintain a tracker of legislation to share with CTA members and summarize potential impacts on their operations.
- Attend legislative hearings and stakeholder meetings to take notes and report back.
- Assist with compiling notes and minutes for monthly member meetings.
- Provide planning, logistical coordination, and onsite support for the Leaders in Technology program at CES 2027 in Las Vegas.
What you'll need#
- Completed or ongoing Bachelor's or Master's degree in fields such as Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Political Science, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes at the federal or state level.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically strong Excel skills.
- Professional writing and editing experience.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

- Location: Arlington, Virginia.
- Terms: Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and Spring 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid (Monday through Wednesday in-office).
- Travel: Attendance at CES 2027 is required.
