About the role#
This Co-Op position supports the maintenance and training of operating systems related to personnel health, safety, and environmental compliance. You will contribute to the ISO 14001:2015 environmental program and help maintain the ISO 45001 management system. You will work alongside experienced professionals in an automotive manufacturing plant, assisting management with tasks designed to mitigate risks on the production floor.
What you'll do#
- Support internal and external EMS and EHS audits, tours, and inspections.
- Collect, analyze, and assess trend data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and deliver training on EHS procedures to employees.
- Assist with closing 8D problem-solving reports and corrective actions.
- Analyze energy usage to identify potential reductions.
- Implement sustainable recycling programs.
- Perform audits and training on the production floor, which may require standing for long periods while wearing personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Public Health, or Health Administration, or graduation within the last year.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work autonomously once tasks are assigned.
- Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to prioritizing tasks.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
