About the role#
The Larry Lunden News Internship provides hands-on experience in a radio newsroom. You will work with the Connecticut Public Radio team to produce news content. This role covers broadcast writing, audio production, and field reporting. You will gain exposure to daily newsroom operations and contribute to coverage under deadlines.
What you'll do#
- Accompany and assist reporters on news assignments.
- Help news anchors produce newscasts.
- Record, edit, and mix audio.
- Conduct research on show topics and share content online.
- Write for news broadcasts and prepare stories for the web.
- Collect audio and conduct interviews.
- Research or produce visual and social media assets.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Adobe programs or other video and audio editing software.
- Ability to learn the basics of radio production.
- Strong skills in research, writing, proofreading, and editing.
- Computer and internet proficiency, including Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

- Location: Hartford, Connecticut.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 21 to November 13).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (a mix of remote and on-site work).
- Compensation: 16.94 per hour.
- Hours: Maximum of 20 hours per week.
- Status: Part-time and paid.
