About the role#
The Student Nurse Intern works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to support patient care. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration within the care team. You will assist with essential tasks to help maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene.
- Communicate with the care team during handoffs and report changes in patient conditions.
- Develop your clinical skills by asking questions and seeking feedback from experienced staff.
- Keep patient rooms and shared workspaces clean and organized.
- Document all tasks and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance and help prepare equipment after patient discharge.
- Perform hourly rounding to support patient comfort and safety.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety if working in Skilled Nursing.
