About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team to provide safe and organized care. You will assist with essential tasks to help the healing process.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, such as monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene.
- Communicate with the care team during handoffs and report changes in patient conditions.
- Develop clinical skills by seeking feedback and applying evidence-based practices under RN guidance.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to meet safety standards.
- Maintain basic equipment like glucometers and scales.
- Perform hourly rounding and engage in purposeful patient interactions.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Uphold customer service standards for patients and their families.
- Maintain regular attendance and follow all facility policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Basic understanding of patient care procedures and medical terminology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation.
- Commitment to a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Required certifications include CPR from the AHA, ARC, or ASHI, and a Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety.
