About the role#
Reeves Construction Company is looking for a Project Engineer Intern to join our team in Brunswick, Georgia. This role supports our Asphalt Superintendents and Foremen by providing technical detail and interpreting project requirements. You will gain hands-on experience in heavy civil highway and site development construction.
What you'll do#
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and solicitations to vendors and subcontractors.
- Work on project sites to observe progression and ensure safety requirements are met.
- Generate change orders and manage the transfer of information between estimating and job cost software.
- Review and analyze job cost information for accuracy.
- Communicate project roll-outs and ongoing issues with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel.
- Generate billing quantities based on field data and contractual requirements.
- Provide clear directions and organize project tasks.
- Work nights and weekends if the project schedule requires.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A current, valid driver's license.
- A commitment to safety and ethical work practices.
