About the role#
Reeves Construction Company is looking for an Intern Project Engineer to join our team in Savannah. You will support our superintendents and foremen by handling technical details and interpreting project requirements. This role offers hands-on experience in heavy civil highway and site development construction.
What you'll do#
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and solicitations to vendors and subcontractors.
- Work on project sites to observe progress and ensure safety standards.
- Use estimating software to generate change orders and transfer data to job cost software.
- Communicate project rollouts and updates with the project manager, superintendents, and field crews.
- Manage submittals to agencies and generate billing quantities.
- Review and analyze job cost information to ensure accuracy.
- Provide clear directions and assist team members in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Be prepared to work nights and weekends if project needs arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- A current, valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, handle repetitive physical tasks, and lift up to 25 pounds.
