About the role#
This is a 16-week, full-time internship based in Guelph, Ontario. You will work on-site with our team to support underwriting efforts and build your technical skills in the insurance industry. This role offers a starting compensation of $30 per hour, flexible scheduling, and potential for contract extension.
What you'll do#
- Measure the effectiveness of actions taken by underwriting teams.
- Identify and assess areas where we can improve profitability.
- Work with programming languages, modeling software, and databases.
- Learn government regulations and best practices for handling data.
- Produce statistics and analyses as needed.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study.
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with SQL, R, Python, or SAS is an asset.
