About the role#
This is a temporary full-time co-op position based in Burlington, Ontario. You will work in a hybrid model, with two days per week in the office. The role is paid, with an expected hourly range of $22 to $27. English proficiency is required, while French is an asset.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and assist with income tax filings for insurance and other corporate entities.
- Reconcile tax accounts for the corporate group.
- Assess payments to foreign vendors and analyze investment activity.
- Collect tax information for reports and surveys.
- Respond to correspondence from tax authorities.
- Assist with technical tax research, tax audits, and process documentation.
- Create reports using tax software and handle other analysis as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Progress toward a professional accounting designation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of confidentiality.
- Prior taxation experience in public practice or industry is an asset.
- Familiarity with Taxprep, Taxprep Forms, and Microsoft Office is an asset.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
