About the role#
As an Agronomist Support Intern, you will work directly with agronomists during the growing season. You will spend about 60% of your time in the field and the remaining 40% participating in training, tours, events, and job shadowing. This role involves 100% travel within the assigned territory.
What you'll do#
- Collect data and make observations from on-farm trials and Keystone plots.
- Create scouting reports to track weeds, insects, diseases, growth stages, and stand counts.
- Perform corn and soybean tissue testing and soil moisture tests.
- Use drones to capture aerial imagery and analyze data.
- Manage field signs for trials by organizing, placing, and removing them.
- Collaborate with an agronomist on a specific summer project and prepare an end-of-year presentation.
- Participate in weekly professional development activities.
- Shadow agronomists during field calls.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, with a preference for Agronomy Juniors or Seniors.
- Previous experience in agronomy or field work.
- A valid driver license, a good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work outdoors for long periods in all weather conditions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft software, GPS tools, and field equipment.
- A self-motivated approach and the ability to complete tasks independently.

- This position is based in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
- The internship is part-time and follows a rolling term schedule.
