About the role#
The AI Intern will join CMC for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, on-site position in Irving, Texas, focuses on identifying and implementing AI, analytics, and automation solutions to improve business processes. Interns will work across various departments, including Commercial, Operations, Finance, IT, and HR, to translate business challenges into structured requirements and technical solutions.
What you'll do#
- Identify business processes that can be improved through AI, analytics, or automation.
- Support the adoption of Microsoft Copilot and other approved AI tools by developing prompts, templates, and quick-reference guides.
- Analyze operational and commercial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Design, document, test, and support automated workflows using tools like Power Automate.
- Document manual reporting workflows and identify opportunities to reduce manual effort using Microsoft Office applications.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and trackers to monitor process performance and AI adoption.
- Ensure all AI-generated outputs and automated processes adhere to company policies regarding data security and confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with a focus on Excel and Power BI.
- Familiarity with Microsoft tools including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and Power Automate.
- Ability to translate business problems into structured requirements and clear documentation.
- A strong interest in AI, analytics, automation, and process improvement.
- High attention to detail regarding data accuracy and validation.
