About the role#
Clean Harbors is hiring a Lab Chemist Intern for our facility in Deer Trail, Colorado. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027. You will work on-site alongside experienced professionals to gain practical experience in environmental services. The program begins on May 17th or May 24th and concludes in August.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by following all workplace policies and OSHA regulations.
- Shadow supervisors and technicians to learn laboratory operations.
- Assist with the analysis of facility samples using GC, IC, ICP, and other instruments.
- Conduct wet chemistry testing, including Chlorine and Fluoride analysis.
- Learn to analyze various metals, such as mercury.
- Manage waste generated during analytical procedures.
- Perform data entry, document control, and validation to ensure accuracy.
- Support team projects and complete additional tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a chemistry, biology, or related degree program.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical tools.
- Ability to document, record, and analyze data effectively.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well within a professional team.
- Knowledge of wastewater, TOC, and ICP instrumentation is helpful.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and stand for long periods.
