Powertrust is seeking an Energy Impact & Data Operations Analyst Intern to support the aggregation of Renewable Energy Certificates from small, distributed renewable energy projects. This role involves working alongside the data science and operations teams to transform solar generation data into actionable insights, support REC issuance, and automate workflows using agentic AI tools.
What you'll do#
- Analyze solar generation data across the company portfolio and produce performance reports for internal and client use.
- Design and maintain dashboards using BI tools like Looker Studio or Google Data Studio to visualize project KPIs and energy trends.
- Identify data gaps, missing intervals, and operational anomalies within distributed solar projects.
- Assist the operations team in gathering, organizing, and validating project metadata to ensure data is audit-ready for REC issuance.
- Use agentic AI tools to streamline data management, from ingestion and cleaning through to reporting.
- Collaborate on the development of internal data standards, SOPs, and project onboarding procedures.
What you'll need#
- A degree in Data Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience analyzing large datasets using SQL, Python, or equivalent tools.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet-based analysis, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with incomplete or messy data.
- Excellent written communication skills for translating analytical findings into clear reports.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Recent graduate status (not currently enrolled as a full-time student).

- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia (Hybrid).
- Duration: 6-month contract.
- Employment Type: Full-time, paid internship.
- Compensation: $30,000 CAD.
