About the role#
This 10-week summer internship program offers a dual experience within our data and analytics community. You will spend half of your time partnered with a host team to work on ongoing initiatives in areas like machine learning, statistical modeling, artificial intelligence, or natural language processing. The other half of your time will be spent on a cross-functional team, collaborating with peers to complete a project focused on real-world business challenges. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with mentors and business partners to define project goals and identify necessary data sources.
- Manage the data preparation process, including exploratory data analysis, attribute selection, and data transformation.
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
- Apply statistical techniques such as model development, validation, and hypothesis testing to meet business objectives.
- Conduct hands-on analysis using quantitative methods, text mining, and operational data techniques.
- Incorporate stakeholder feedback to iteratively refine your models.
- Present findings and recommendations to business leaders and peers during a capstone presentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s or PhD) in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Analytics, or Computer Science.
- Master’s students must have an expected graduation date between December 2027 and Spring 2028; PhD students must be concurrently enrolled.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Education in statistical theory and experience cleaning or processing raw and prepared datasets.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Pandas, and Jupyter Notebooks.
- Experience with cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with tools like Snowflake, Redshift, Amazon S3, and Amazon SageMaker.
- Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to complete a video interview assessment within 4 days of receiving the link.
- Permanent work authorization in the United States is required. We do not provide visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Locations: Johnston, RI; Columbus, OH; or Boston, MA.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
