About the role#
Join the Alternate Solutions Group (ASG) as a Student Analyst for the Winter 2027 term. Based in the Payments division of CIBC Capital Markets, this team develops technology-driven solutions for foreign exchange and cross-border payments. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support product development, business strategy, and client engagement initiatives. Depending on business needs, you will be placed in either the Sales & Distribution team or the Product team.
What you'll do#
- Support product development, business strategy, and client engagement initiatives.
- In Sales, perform new client acquisition, market analysis, and business growth tasks.
- In Product, perform product development, performance analysis, project execution, and improve product capabilities.
- Formulate solution scope and objectives.
- Validate requirements, testing, training, and implementation of applications.
- Ensure execution of project control procedures and policies.
- Analyze business opportunities and present recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, STEM, or a related program with a graduation date no earlier than August 2027.
- Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills.
- Proven record of academic success, teamwork, and extracurricular involvement.
- Highly effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
- Knowledge of Capital Markets, FinTech, and financial services industries.
- Experience with Salesforce, Python, Power BI, and coursework in Artificial Intelligence are preferred.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to April 2027).
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with an annualized base salary of $100,000.
