About the role#
The Global Investment Banking Advancement Program is a two-year initiative designed to connect top undergraduate talent to career opportunities at CIBC. This program includes mentorship and development programming from November 2026 to April 2027, followed by two consecutive summer internships in 2027 and 2028. Participants gain exposure to various industry and product groups, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, and Technology & Innovation.
What you'll do#
- Provide analytical, research, and presentation preparation support to the team.
- Participate in transactions and advisory projects such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and financings.
- Collaborate with team members to execute coverage and financing assignments.
- Perform financial and data analysis to support client solutions.
- Engage in mentorship and virtual learning sessions with senior leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2nd year undergraduate student in Commerce, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date no sooner than December 2028.
- Identification as a member of under-represented communities, including women, the Black community, Indigenous people, persons with disabilities, or the LGBTQ+ community.
- Demonstrated interest in Capital Markets through coursework, clubs, or work experience.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- A highly motivated and success-oriented approach to teamwork.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: The expected annualized base salary is $105,000.
- Program Structure: Includes a six-month development period followed by two paid four-month summer work terms in 2027 and 2028.
