About the role#
The Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering team at CIBC is hiring for a Winter 2027 Co-op. This role provides hands-on experience in a business intelligence function, focusing on reporting, analytics, and data visualization. You will work in a collaborative environment to support data-driven decision-making across the bank.
What you'll do#
- Support the extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis of data from internal sources.
- Assist in creating and enhancing dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations using tools like Tableau and Power BI.
- Analyze data to identify trends and anomalies that inform business intelligence.
- Use SQL to query, analyze, and troubleshoot data issues.
- Support automation and analytical tasks using Python and Databricks.
- Perform data quality checks to ensure reporting accuracy and reliability.
- Partner with team members and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective reporting solutions.
- Contribute to process documentation, report logic, metric definitions, and dashboard standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and dashboard usability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in post-secondary education, with preference for 3rd or 4th-year students.
- Pursuing a degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Academic exposure or experience with SQL.
- Familiarity with Python for data analysis, scripting, or automation.
- Exposure to reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Databricks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
