About the role#
CHS Inc. is seeking a Transportation Operations Intern to join the Enterprise Transportation team. This role focuses on the logistics of moving commodities and managing truck shipments. You will work on-site in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Manage daily truck shipments of commodities using company systems.
- Coordinate loading and unloading schedules for trucks.
- Track and trace shipments in real time to provide accurate arrival times to customers and internal teams.
- Look for ways to improve fleet utilization and reduce costs with private and third-party carriers.
- Handle routine logistics tasks, such as sending updates, managing emails, and supporting customer service.
- Address service issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Build relationships with third-party carriers and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate shipment issues to management, especially when safety or delivery timelines are at risk.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Supply Chain, Business, Ag Business, or a related field.
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
- A self-starting attitude and a willingness to learn new systems.
