About the role#
This summer externship offers nursing students a chance to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting. You will work alongside a preceptor to practice clinical skills and provide direct patient care. The program includes educational sessions, opportunities to observe in specialty areas, and a project focused on education or quality improvement for your assigned unit.
What you'll do#
- Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Participate in classroom learning sessions.
- Prepare and present an education or quality-based project.
- Observe clinical work in specialty areas of your choice.
- Help maintain a safe environment and support unit operations.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program.
- Completion of at least one clinical rotation.
- No prior experience is required, as on-the-job training is provided.

- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Compensation: This role is paid, with starting pay beginning at $22.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Proof of specific immunizations is required for employment.
