About the role#
The Audiology Extern is a full-time, 12-month position for students currently in the fourth year of an accredited doctoral program. You will provide medical audiologic services while under the direct supervision of a licensed and certified audiologist. This role focuses on gaining the necessary training to function independently in a clinical setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform and document diagnostic and rehabilitative audiologic procedures.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat hearing disorders in children.
- Participate in activities that improve the quality, efficiency, and outcomes of patient care.
- Complete required training and instruction to build clinical skills.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your third year and current enrollment in the fourth year of an accredited AuD program.
- A current university affiliation agreement between your program and Children's Mercy.
- Ability to work on-site in Kansas City.
- Completion of mandatory health screenings and immunization requirements, including the seasonal influenza vaccine.
