About the role#
As a Research & Development Engineering Intern at Chemelex, you will work directly with our materials team to advance our technical capabilities. You will assist with testing, sample preparation, and analytical activities while driving specific projects under the guidance of team members. This role offers the chance to support innovation across our electric thermal and sensing solutions.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research projects to support innovation.
- Evaluate and develop new technical capabilities, including materials, compounds, and testing methods.
- Create and execute test plans to verify product design intent and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Perform competitive testing.
- Provide support for 3D projects, technical investigations, and operational improvement tasks.
- Write technical reports, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, operations, supply, quality, and sustaining engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent completion of a four-year degree program in a Science or Engineering field.
- Prior lab-based hands-on experience with polymeric materials and metals is a plus.
- Knowledge of polymers, metals, electronics, or electrical systems.
- Ability to develop a test plan to demonstrate technical capability.
- Familiarity with materials characterization techniques such as TGA, DSC, optical microscopy, and mechanical testing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively as both a self-starter and a team member.

- Compensation: 24 USD per hour.
