About the role#
This is a year-round internship based in Saukville, Wisconsin. You will work 15 to 20 hours per week during the school year and move to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week during the summer of 2027. You will gain practical experience by working alongside the Maintenance Mechanical Engineer on projects within the processing plant.
What you'll do#
- Partner with the Maintenance Mechanical Engineer on hands-on engineering projects.
- Support machine design and equipment upgrades, including part design and plant layout improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance plant operations, safety, and efficiency.
- Incorporate safety and environmental considerations into equipment and process designs.
- Collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to support projects from design through implementation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build professional relationships.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and succeed in a team environment.
- Preferred: Advanced Excel and analyst skills, AutoCAD experience, and exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools.
