About the role#
Novelis is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op for our Rolling Process Team in Kennesaw, Georgia. This is a 6-month program starting in 2027. You will work with our team to improve process models and support trials using our rolling process simulation equipment. This position is a paid, full-time, on-site role.
What you'll do#
- Develop and improve process models.
- Assist with process improvement trials.
- Compile data and prepare detailed analysis.
- Prepare and present your results to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited 4-year university pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (must be at least a junior, graduate students are welcome).
- A strong interest in manufacturing as a career.
- Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, solid mechanics, manufacturing systems, and process optimization.
- Proficiency in CAD, engineering tools, or programming languages.
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse audience.
- Experience with finite element packages like Abaqus, Ansys, LSDyna, or Comsol is a plus.
- Ability to write scientific code in languages such as Python or Matlab is a plus.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
