About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will gain practical experience supporting plant electrical and instrumentation systems. You will report to the Chief Engineer and work alongside experienced engineers and technicians. This is a safety sensitive, on-site position based in Claremore, Oklahoma, as part of the Summer 2027 Internship Program.
What you'll do#
- Support daily maintenance tasks alongside I&E technicians.
- Troubleshoot and address electrical plant-related issues.
- Participate in electrical switching maneuvers and load balancing.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on MCCs and motor or feeder protection relays.
- Contribute to preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Help develop electrical and instrumentation designs for projects.
- Learn to create budgets for electrical system improvements.
- Participate in preparing project authorization documents.
- Gain exposure to managing the MOC process for documenting changes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Electrical Engineering program, pursuing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
- Exposure to managing the MOC process.
